Weyermann® Carafa® Special type-2 malt: Carefully roasted to add a coffee brown color, espresso-like bouquet, dark beer aroma and body to the beer. Produces opaque beer with mild but noticeable roasted aftertaste. Used sparingly (max 5 %) in brown ales, porters, dark abbey beers, etc. Made of bran-free barley giving a softer taste with less bitterness.
