Brewers Gold was released in 1934 as a bitter hop, but with alpha acid levels of 5.5-6.2%, it does not have a really strong bitterness by today's standards. The sweet and sour aroma profile of Brewers Gold carries notes of cream caramel and citrus, as well as tropical fruit notes. This variety is suitable for combined use with Hallertauer Northernbrewer and Nugget.
